Originally postponed due to pandemic travel restrictions, the couple held off until family from Canada could join them in North Carolina. As Steve’s father joked during his toast, the Canadians even brought a touch of unseasonably cool weather with them!

The celebration itself was anything but chilly — warm hugs, happy tears and genuine laughter filled the day.

Their story began years earlier at Buffalo Wild Wings in Gastonia, where Steve swooped in to rescue Brittany from a less-than-thrilling conversation with another man. From there, their relationship grew into countless adventures, eventually leading to a patriotic proposal on July 4th. Steve, a Canadian immigrant, told Brittany she was the only thing he loved more than the U.S.

What makes them unique? Steve’s constant jokes — which Brittany claims aren’t funny, though she secretly admits some are pretty good. Together, they’re a go-with-the-flow couple who love sharing drinks, laughs, and family time.
